29.04.2023 - C64 game 'TextQuest' released
'TextQuest' is an oldschool text adventure for C64, which tries to recreate the atmosphere of the very first text-based RPGs that appeared on the PLATO platform. We take on the role of the hero of the moment, engaged in the exploration of a dungeon full of monsters, but don't worry: in the various rooms you can find some objects that will be a conspicuous aid for the success of the mission. The game is available in English or Italian as digital version for a bargain (name your own price).

28.04.2023 - 'Zeta Wing 2' for C64 released
The eagerly awaited vertical shoot-em-up 'Zeta Wing 2' by Sarah Jane Avory (Briley Witch Chronicles, Neutron) is finally released and available as digital download for a very fair price. The sequel of the award winning Zeta Wing features: -7 challenging stages, each with their own graphic style. - 3 difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, Hard. - Lots of parallax scrolling. - 12 player weapon upgrades. - 7 end of stage bosses. - PAL and NTSC compatible. - Simultaneous music and sound effects. - Supports C64GS joysticks with 2nd button. - Save/load settings and high score table to cartridge (.crt version) or disk; settings will auto-load on startup.

27.04.2023 - Update of WIP Amiga game 'Settle the World' (270423) released
Settle the World is a turn-based building and trading game with a focus on local multiplayer (up to four players on one Amiga computer), which you can download for free. You will have to found settlements, build roads, establish trade relations with your fellow player, explore the map and sometimes send soldiers to war. In the next version of the game, it will be possible to send units directly to a specific city. This feature is also available in the original game "Colonization" and was requested by some players.

26.04.2023 - 'Games That Weren't 64' (GTW64) - April 2023 updates
A much larger update this month, as there was a lot of corrections and fixes done to some old posts, but GTW also has 7 completely new entries too to further increase the size of the C64 archive. Won’t be long until the GTW database hit the 3000 mark!

26.04.2023 - Protovision Protopad Update
The project has run into multiple issues over the last couple of years. These include the unavailability and skyrocketing cost of FPGA chipsets, inconsistent technical readings during prototype testing, our PCB designer being impacted by the Russia/Ukraine conflict, and difficulty with finding a suitable shell casing for the controller. But the good news is that we were able to address all of the above and now have a fully working prototype that works on the C64 (the Protopad will also support other platform modes that use the Atari style joystick port). REV'n'GE (Retro Emulator Vision and Game) is an Italian and English language PDF magazine, not only for Commodore fans, that mainly focus on game REViews.

24.04.2023 - Firmware version 3.10f / Core 1.42 for Ultimate 64 and 1541 Ultimate-II released
This release now also includes the Ultimate-II+L version of the firmware! Plus Fixes: - Fixxed ExFAT filesystems with 128kB clusters (Fixes failing D64 mounts from some ExFAT thumbdrives). - EasyFlash save function now saves all chip chunks to support incomplete CRT files. - GEORAM at boot (MarkusC64). - Support for 2 MHz operation for any cartridge, including EasyFlash. - Minor fixes in the modem emulation layer from Scott Hutter (xlar54) - U64 only: Multicolor graphics side border bug (core version V1.41 => V1.42). - Plus Additions: Firmware target added: Ultimate-II+L; the Lattice version!
