09.10.2025 - MOS 6502: 50 Years, Top 50 Instructions - video by '8-Bit Show And Tell'
The MOS 6502 microprocessor was released September 1975, and has now turned 50 years old. To celebrate, we're counting down the top 50 instructions as ranked by use in possibly the most-executed 6502 software ever written: the built-in BASIC and KERNAL ROMs of the best-selling Commodore 64 home computer. We'll also look at a bit of microprocessor history, another contender or two for software to examine, and give a real-world use for every single instruction, as found in the 16KB of ROM code in the C64. Happy birthday to the 6502 processor family!

06.10.2025 - C64 game 'Bubble Bobble Remastered' released
'Bubble Bobble Remastered' is a fan-made radical enhancement - with all-new graphics - of the Commodore 64 version of Taito's Bubble Bobble, originally developed by Software Creations and published by Firebird in 1987. The game was met with critical and player acclaim upon release and is still regarded today as a great classic for the C64, as well as one of the best games ever released on the platform. You can get the remastered version as digital download for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.

03.10.2025 - C64 game 'Battle for Frost' released - free for download
'Battle for Frost' from Windigo Games (who lately delivered us 'The Tribe'), is a turn based wargame for up to four players, and the successor for 'Battle for Cronos'. To be successful on the battlefield, you must effectively combine different unit types, take the terrain into account and plan your supplies strategically. Battle for Frost is the second part of the Battle-Series. Beside a complete new mission set, there are multiple improvements compared to its predecessor: Multiple new units including two new combat mechs, new abilities that allow new tactics like cloaking, atmospheric in-game music, resource based unit production, additional settings to customize your playing experience, an overall enhanced game engine. The game is published in October as a boxed version by Komoda & Amiga plus magazine along with another of our games, The Tribe. The box contains a printed manual and other extras. 'YEET' is a small but challenging puzzle game for Commodore Amiga (OCS KS1.3 + 512 Kb). It is set in a fantasy world where you’ll travel across the region, visiting villages and other locations where Runemasters have prepared their challenges with puzzle runes that must be pushed off the edge until only one rune remain. Each puzzle grows more complex, testing your ability to think ahead and find the correct sequence of moves. 'Tombstones - Retirement Day' by Megastyle was originally made for C64 and in 2017. Now the game was ported to Amiga by using AMOS Professional Basic. Our hero - El Gringo has to gun down 6 outlaws on 3 different stages: The Desert, The City and The Graveyard. Each outlaw is slightly quicker than the previous, so El Gringo has to summon all his reaction, speed, and will to survive.
